Stardew Valley: How To Get & Use The Crystalarium

Stardew Valley offers more than just farming; it’s a quest for profit and valuable resources beyond crops and livestock. Gemstones, for example, are not only beautiful and valuable but also crucial for crafting and gifting. However, tirelessly mining for rare gems can be inefficient. That's where the Crystalarium shines!

This remarkable device allows you to multiply gemstones and minerals, significantly boosting your resources. This guide explains how to harness its power, updated for Stardew Valley's 1.6 update, reflecting balance changes affecting its use and relocation.

Obtaining a Crystalarium

Unlocking the Crystalarium recipe requires reaching Mining Level 9. Crafting it demands:

• 99 Stone (easily obtained by breaking rocks)
• 5 Gold Bars (smelt Gold Ore; found up to Mine Level 80)
• 2 Iridium Bars (mined in Skull Cavern or from the Statue of Perfection)
• 1 Battery Pack (obtained from lightning rods during thunderstorms)

Alternatively, you can acquire a Crystalarium by:

• Completing the 25,000g Community Center bundle (Vault).
• Donating at least 50 minerals to the Museum.

Using the Crystalarium

Place your Crystalarium anywhere—indoors or outdoors. The Quarry is a popular choice for mass production. It replicates any mineral or gemstone (except Prismatic Shards). Quartz has the shortest growth time, but Diamonds, despite their longer 5-day production, offer the highest profit.

To relocate or change the gem type, hit it with an axe or pickaxe. The current gem will drop. To switch gems, simply interact with the Crystalarium while holding the desired gem; the old gem will be ejected, and the new one will begin replicating.
