World of Warcraft, sorti en 2004, a révolutionné le genre des jeux de rôle en ligne massivement multijoueurs (MMORPG). Même après près de deux décennies, des millions de personnes restent activement engagées.
Alors que WoW offre un contenu infini, les joueurs qui ont investi des centaines ou des milliers d'heures pourraient rechercher de nouveaux défis. Les joueurs de haut niveau consacrent souvent des années à plusieurs personnages et comptes. Pour ceux qui ont envie de changer de rythme, les jeux suivants offrent des alternatives intéressantes, même s'ils ne reproduisent pas parfaitement l'expérience WoW. Mise à jour le 10 janvier 2025 par Mark Sammut : Fin 2024 a vu plusieurs sorties de jeux majeurs, mais aucun ne ressemblait beaucoup à WoW. Bien que Infinity Nikki mérite une mention pour son monde ouvert époustouflant et son gameplay addictif, il n'a aucune similitude avec le MMO de Blizzard. La version à accès anticipé de Path of Exile 2 offre également une option intéressante pour les amateurs de RPG d'action.
