Unleash the Power of Your Keys: Keymapper for Android!

Keymapper is an open-source app that lets you remap your hardware buttons. This means you can customize the functionality of various buttons on your device to perform different actions.

What Buttons Can You Remap?

Keymapper supports remapping a wide range of hardware buttons, including:

• Fingerprint gestures (on compatible devices)
• Volume buttons
• Navigation buttons
• Bluetooth and wired keyboards
• Buttons on other connected devices

Important Note: Only hardware buttons can be remapped. Software buttons or virtual keys are not supported. There's no guarantee all buttons will work, and the app isn't designed for game control. Your device manufacturer may also restrict remapping capabilities.

Creating Custom Key Combinations:

Keymapper allows for advanced customization. You can combine multiple keys from various devices to create "triggers." Each trigger can execute multiple actions, with keys pressed simultaneously or sequentially. You can also configure triggers for short presses, long presses, and double presses. Furthermore, you can add "constraints" to triggers, limiting their activation to specific situations.

What Buttons Cannot Be Remapped?

Certain buttons are excluded from remapping due to system limitations:

• Power button
• Bixby button
• Mouse buttons
• Game controller D-pad, thumbsticks, and triggers

Also, key mappings are inactive when the screen is off – an Android system limitation.

Remapping Actions:

Permissions:

Keymapper requests permissions to function correctly. The app will inform you if a permission is required for a specific feature. These include:

• Accessibility Service: Essential for remapping; allows the app to monitor and intercept key events.
• Device Admin: Enables screen-off functionality.
• Modify System Settings: Allows brightness and rotation adjustments.
• Camera: Enables flashlight control.

Enabling the accessibility service might disable "enhanced data encryption" on some devices.
