The demand for a new Star Wars Battlefront title has gained momentum following remarks from an actor in the acclaimed Andor series.

In recent weeks, players have been returning en masse to 2017's Star Wars Battlefront 2, resulting in Steam player counts reaching their highest levels in years – despite developer DICE having concluded support long ago.

Muhannad Ben Amor, who portrayed rebel hero Wilmon Paak in Andor, has joined fans in advocating for Battlefront 3 through social media.

"Star Wars needs to deliver Battlefront 3 immediately," Amor posted on Instagram (via Comicbook), sharing his impressive 469-hour playtime record for Battlefront 2. Those are rookie numbers!

"I've been playing Battlefront 2 since launch – consider me an OG player," Amor added. "Here's hoping Battlefront 3 becomes reality."

Battlefront 2's resurgence coincides with Andor's climactic season 2 finale and heightened Star Wars excitement around May the 4th celebrations.

After maintaining steady Steam player counts around 2,000 for years, the game has recently surged toward its all-time peak of nearly 10,000 concurrent players.

Does this renewed interest signal higher chances for Battlefront 3? Currently, DICE appears fully focused on delivering its next major Battlefield installment, with an official reveal expected this summer.

DICE might remain hesitant about reviving the franchise, given Battlefront 2's controversial loot box launch. However, public perception has evolved positively over time. While EA no longer holds exclusive Star Wars game rights, Respawn continues developing Star Wars Jedi titles.

"Star Wars Battlefront 2's turnaround rivals the Skywalker saga's redemption arcs," noted IGN's 2019 re-review. "Today, it stands as one of the most immersive Star Wars gaming experiences available."
