"Black Ops 6 Unveils New Zombies Features for Season 2"

Summary

  • Zombies in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will introduce a co-op pause feature in Season 2.
  • AFK Kick Loadout Recovery will enable players to rejoin with their original loadout.
  • Separate HUD presets for multiplayer and Zombies will enhance the user experience.

Exciting news has emerged about the upcoming Season 2 update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, with a focus on significant enhancements to the game's Zombies mode. This update comes as part of a new teaser for Season 2, which is set to launch soon.

Zombies, a fan-favorite mode since its debut in World at War over a decade ago, remains a cornerstone of the Call of Duty experience. In Black Ops 6, not only does round-based Zombies return, but Treyarch is also committed to developing captivating new environments for players to explore. The game is on the brink of introducing several changes designed to further elevate the mode.

While Season 2 promises a plethora of updates for multiplayer enthusiasts, Zombies players are in for a treat as well. Beyond the introduction of the new Tomb map, Zombies fans can look forward to a range of new features, including UI improvements and other much-requested additions. A notable highlight is the co-op pause option, allowing players in the same party to pause the game together—a feature long requested by the community.

Call of Duty Reveals Black Ops 6 Zombies Changes for Season 2

  • Challenge Tracking & Near Completion (Zombies and Multiplayer)

    • Players can manually track up to 10 Calling Card Challenges and 10 Camo Challenges per mode, making it easier to monitor progress.
    • If fewer than 10 challenges are tracked, slots will display the nearest challenges to completion, helping players identify and complete them.
    • The top Tracked or Near Completion Calling Card Challenge and Camo Challenge will be visible in the Lobby and in-game via the Options Menu.
  • Co-op Pause

    • In matches where all players are in the same party, the party leader can pause the game for everyone, allowing time to regroup or take a break during intense rounds. This feature, highly requested since launch, will be implemented in Season 2.
  • AFK Kick Loadout Recovery

    • Players kicked for inactivity can now rejoin the game and recover their original loadout, reducing frustration and preserving progress in Zombies runs.
  • Separate HUD Presets for Zombies and Multiplayer

    • Players can now set different HUD presets for Zombies and multiplayer, eliminating the need to adjust settings when switching between modes. This feature, though delayed due to higher priorities, aims to enhance the user experience.

Alongside the co-op pause feature, "AFK Kick Loadout Recovery" will allow players who are kicked for inactivity to rejoin and retain their original loadout. Given the importance of progression in Zombies runs, this feature addresses the frustration of losing weapons, perks, and points due to unexpected disconnections.

Additionally, the ability to create separate HUD presets for multiplayer and Zombies will streamline the user experience, while the new challenge tracking system will make it easier for players to progress through Black Ops 6's extensive collection of Calling Card and Camo Challenges.

Season 2 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is scheduled to launch on January 28, 2025.
