Blizzard Announces Six New Warcraft Conventions

Blizzard's Warcraft 30th Anniversary World Tour: A Global Celebration

Blizzard Entertainment is commemorating three decades of Warcraft with a global tour featuring six fan conventions across the globe from February to May 2025. These events promise live entertainment, exclusive activities, and opportunities to connect with Warcraft developers.

Following Blizzard's decision to forgo BlizzCon in 2024 in favor of alternative events like Gamescom and the inaugural Warcraft Direct, the World Tour marks a significant shift in their fan engagement strategy. This six-city tour celebrates key franchise milestones, including World of Warcraft's 20th anniversary, Hearthstone's 10th, and Warcraft Rumble's first.

The tour kicks off in London on February 22nd and continues with stops in Seoul, Toronto, Sydney, Sao Paulo, culminating in Boston during PAX East on May 10th.

Warcraft 30th Anniversary World Tour Dates:

  • February 22 – London, United Kingdom
  • March 8 – Seoul, South Korea
  • March 15 – Toronto, Canada
  • April 3 – Sydney, Australia
  • April 19 – Sao Paulo, Brazil
  • May 10 – Boston, United States (during PAX East)

While details remain scarce, the events are anticipated to focus on immersive experiences and fan interaction rather than major announcements. The "intimate gatherings" will offer limited, free tickets, with distribution details to be revealed via regional Warcraft channels. Fans are encouraged to monitor their local channels for ticket acquisition information.

The future of BlizzCon remains uncertain. A traditional BlizzCon event, potentially in late summer or early autumn, could serve as a platform to showcase content from the upcoming World of Warcraft: Midnight expansion, including the highly anticipated player housing feature. However, Blizzard's silence regarding future BlizzCons suggests a possible shift to a biennial schedule, similar to Final Fantasy XIV's Fan Festival. Regardless, the Warcraft World Tour promises a unique and memorable experience for attendees.
