In 2025, World of Warcraft players can look forward to a major new feature: a housing system. Blizzard has unveiled the initial details, promising that homes will be accessible to all players without complex requirements, exorbitant prices, or lotteries. Additionally, players can rest assured that their homes won’t be confiscated for lapses in subscription. The full rollout of this exciting housing content is scheduled for the upcoming Midnight expansion.
Upon launch, players will have the freedom to select a plot in one of two designated zones. Alliance players can choose plots in Elwynn Forest, which will feature elements from Westfall and Duskwood, while Horde players will find their homes in Durotar, incorporating aspects of Azshara and the Durotar coastline.
Each zone will be segmented into districts, with each district hosting around 50 houses. Players can opt for an open area or a more secluded private community where they can live alongside friends and guildmates. Blizzard is committed to offering extensive decoration options for home customization. While most customization items will be obtainable in-game, select items will be available in the shop.
The developers have highlighted that the housing system is designed around three core principles: extensive customization, fostering social interaction, and ensuring longevity. Blizzard plans to release more details about the housing system in the future and is keen to hear player feedback. They encourage the community to share their thoughts and ideas on this new feature.
