CD Projekt RED Veterans Unveil "The Blood of Dawnwalker" RPG

Rebel Wolves, a studio established by former CD Projekt RED developers, recently unveiled their debut title, The Blood of Dawnwalker, in a captivating livestream. The stream featured a four-minute cinematic trailer, serving as the game's opening narrative sequence, showcasing this dark fantasy action RPG.

Set in a 14th-century alternate Europe, The Blood of Dawnwalker follows Coen, a young man who acquires supernatural abilities after the events depicted in the trailer. His mission: rescue his loved ones from a vampire threat within a strict 30-day deadline. While time progresses only during select gameplay moments, strategic time management is crucial.

Coen faces a compelling moral choice: embrace his humanity or succumb to his vampiric nature. This decision profoundly impacts both gameplay mechanics and the narrative's trajectory. A core mechanic, "Blood Hunger," adds a layer of complexity. Prolonged periods without feeding risk a loss of control, potentially resulting in the accidental death of key characters and unforeseen consequences.

Players will explore richly detailed environments with dynamic elements influenced by the time of day. The developers describe the open world as a "narrative sandbox," offering expansive opportunities for player agency and interaction.

Developed over two years using Unreal Engine 5, The Blood of Dawnwalker is slated for release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. A specific release date remains unannounced.
