My Child New Beginnings is now available on Android. Sarepta Studio has brought the game to mobile devices. Much like its predecessor, My Child Lebensborn—the 2019 BAFTA Games Beyond Entertainment award winner—it’s an evolving nurturing experience.
The original game placed players in post-World War II Norway, raising a child born under circumstances that filled their days with hostility and shame. My Child New Beginnings is set decades later, in 1990s Norway.
You play as an adoptive parent raising Klaus or Karin, preteens still navigating the aftermath of a painful past. You offer safety, love, guidance, and companionship.
It’s about helping a child heal, including moments of trauma, panic attacks, anxiety, and the complex journey of rebuilding trust and stability. Every decision you make impacts their emotional wellbeing on a daily basis.
My Child New Beginnings is a life simulation rather than a strictly linear story. So, everyday routines are just as important as the emotional highs and lows. You balance work, grocery runs, household management, and finding meaningful moments to connect with your child in between.
The town slowly grows as your story unfolds. This opens new opportunities for the child to form friendships and rediscover a sense of belonging. Each major storyline spans multiple sessions, while smaller chapters last anywhere from four in-game days to a week.
Creating a home that feels truly safe is both a practical and emotional challenge. You must balance time and money, meet physical and emotional needs, and support learning and growth. You also need to respond thoughtfully during moments when parenting becomes ethically complex.
Small joys, minor disagreements, and playful exchanges are what make the experience feel authentic. While the setting begins in a quiet Norwegian town, additional journeys to the mountains or a major city unfold through story events and DLC.
