Meet Coen, the Dawnwalker

Players embody Coen, a Dawnwalker—a being existing between human and vampire—in the fictional 14th-century world of Vale Sangora. Unlike typical protagonists, Coen is portrayed as emotionally complex and vulnerable. He's thrust into a conflict against Brencis, an ancient vampire who controls Vale Sangora, with a desperate 30-day mission to save his family. While the game features a time constraint, the developers emphasize extended gameplay hours. Coen exhibits superhuman abilities, including enhanced agility and magic, as seen in the reveal trailer.

Dawnwalkers and a Subtle Magic System

Rebel Wolves, the developer, clarified several fan questions via their Discord server. Dawnwalkers are not simply hybrids; they represent a distinct entity. The game's magic system, while present, avoids flashy spectacle, focusing instead on occult practices, rituals, and artifacts. Expect subtle magic rather than overt displays of power.

A Narrative Sandbox with Choices and Consequences

The Blood of Dawnwalker World

Despite Coen's central quest, The Blood of Dawnwalker offers a narrative sandbox experience. Player agency is paramount, allowing multiple paths to achieve the main objective. Expect a non-linear storyline with a dynamic world reacting to player choices. To maintain this single-player focus, there will be no multiplayer or co-op modes. However, romanceable characters, including various races like uriashi and kobolds, will add depth to Coen's journey.

Developed by former CD Projekt Red developers, The Blood of Dawnwalker is slated for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, though a specific release date remains unannounced.
