Destiny Child is back! Initially launched in 2016 and archived in September 2023, this popular title is being revived by Com2uS, taking over development from ShiftUp.
Com2uS and ShiftUp have partnered to create a completely new Destiny Child experience – an idle RPG. Development is spearheaded by Com2uS subsidiary, Tiki Taka Studio, known for titles like the tactical RPG, Arcana Tactics. While retaining the charm of the original, including its captivating 2D characters, the gameplay will feature a fresh set of mechanics.
Destiny Child's initial release was a sensation, celebrated for its adorable characters and real-time battles. Following its closure after almost seven years, ShiftUp released a memorial app.
This memorial version, while not a fully functional game, allows players to revisit the stunning character art and fondly remember their Childs. Access requires verification using previous account data, limiting access to players with pre-shutdown accounts. It's a nostalgic trip down memory lane, preserving the Childs and their classes, even without active battles. If you have access, download it from the Google Play Store and enjoy the artwork before the new game launches.
That's the latest on Destiny Child's return. For more gaming news, check out our article on Hearthstone's "The Great Dark Beyond" and the return of the Burning Legion.
