Donkey Kong Game Tops Amazon Sales Charts

It's official: Donkey Kong Bananza is currently the top-selling video game on Amazon. Given the immense popularity of the Switch 2, it's no surprise this highly anticipated title is climbing the retailer's best-seller charts.

As of this writing, the game holds the 11th position on Amazon's official chart—the highest ranking for any individual game. It's followed closely by the critically acclaimed Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (PS5), trailing only behind perennial best-sellers like various Roblox, PlayStation, and Xbox gift cards.

Another Switch 2-related product joining Donkey Kong Bananza on the best-sellers list is an affordable third-party screen protector set for the Nintendo Switch 2. It's currently listed for just $8.99, a $4 discount from its $12.99 MSRP.

With Donkey Kong Bananza's July 17 release date approaching, Amazon recently opened pre-orders for the game. This follows the retailer ending its long-standing freeze with Nintendo of America and once again listing first-party Nintendo titles.

While the Switch 2 console itself is not yet officially available for purchase on the site, this development may signal that stock will become available in the near future.

The game isn't the only Donkey Kong item available for pre-order, either. An adorable amiibo featuring the new duo of Donkey Kong and Pauline is also up for grabs. It's set to release on July 17 as well, allowing you to get both items on launch day.

Our first hands-on preview of Donkey Kong Bananza also gave us plenty to be excited about. IGN's Logan Plant noted, "If you were disappointed that the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct lacked a big, flashy 3D Mario, I'm here to tell you that Donkey Kong Bananza feels like the sequel to that formula we've been clamoring for—it just happens to star the giant ape instead."
