Mother Nature: EcoDash, a new endless runner for Android, tackles environmental issues head-on. Developed by BOM (Birmingham Open Media), a UK-based arts organization, this game uniquely incorporates the creative input of girls aged 11-18 from the Powered by CAN youth project, influencing its art style and mechanics.
Players embody Mother Nature, a Black female scientist, tasked with purifying a polluted city and rescuing animals from the clutches of Smog, the game's antagonist. Gameplay involves outrunning pollution, collecting air purifiers, and managing a smog meter to avoid being engulfed by toxic clouds. Beyond the core running and jumping mechanics, the game features rescue missions, allowing players to save endangered animals and release them in a rainforest sanctuary.
BOM's aim was to present complex environmental issues like climate change and air pollution in a fun, accessible manner. The game is enhanced with various power-ups, shields, and bonus items to aid players in their mission.
Mother Nature: EcoDash delivers a simple yet impactful message through engaging gameplay. Download it from the Google Play Store to experience it firsthand.
