Conquering a level in the cooperative game R.E.P.O. is a significant achievement. After your victory, a trip to the Service Station awaits, where you can acquire essential upgrades and weapons, including Energy Crystals. Here's a breakdown of their function and how to obtain more.
These shiny yellow crystals, found at the Service Station after completing the first level, are a valuable investment costing between $7,000 and $9,000. Early in the game, when the difficulty is generally lower, they're often cheaper, making it a good idea to stock up if you have the funds.
Purchasing an Energy Crystal adds an Energy Container to your R.E.P.O. truck. This container is crucial for recharging tools like the Valuables or Extraction Tracker. Simply place the tool in the bin next to the container (identified by a yellow lightning bolt) to begin recharging. This significantly reduces the need for replacements and saves your team money in the long run. You'll be ready to tackle the next Clown, Gnome, or Shadow Child with fully charged equipment.
Once purchased, the Energy Crystal automatically appears in the container. However, they aren't indestructible. Their energy depletes with use, and eventually, they break, requiring replacement to continue using the container. Approximately one crystal refills four battery sections of an item, and six crystals fully charge the Energy Container.
Energy Crystals are exclusively purchased at the Service Station, and can be expensive. To ensure you have enough funds, diligently collect valuables throughout each level. The Taxman only transports you to the Service Station after successfully completing a level with sufficient funds.
During particularly challenging levels, prioritizing survival and securing enough money to complete the level—even if it means leaving behind some valuables—might be a wiser strategy than risking everything.
That's everything you need to know about Energy Crystals in R.E.P.O. and how to acquire them.
