Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Returns to the Esports World Cup 2025

Following the apparent success of the Esports World Cup 2024, several publishers have announced the return of their flagship titles for the 2025 edition. Garena's Free Fire was an early confirmation, and now Moonton's Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) has also been confirmed.

The 2024 Esports World Cup featured two MLBB events: the MLBB Mid Season Cup (MSC) and the MLBB Women's Invitational. These tournaments attracted teams from around the globe to Riyadh. Selangor Red Giants emerged victorious in the MSC, while Smart Omega Empress defeated Team Vitality (ending their 25-game win streak) to claim the Women's Invitational title.

A Strong Showing, But Is It Enough?

Most games from the 2024 Esports World Cup appear to be returning in 2025. However, a noticeable trend is the absence of truly major championships. The inclusion of MLBB's mid-season cup, for instance, might suggest the Esports World Cup is viewed as a supplementary event rather than the primary competition. This is a double-edged sword: it avoids overshadowing established leagues but could also diminish the EWC's overall prestige.

Regardless, fans of the participating games will undoubtedly welcome the return of so many familiar titles to this prestigious tournament.
