Retro Gaming Fun: Battletoads, Dodgeball, and More!

Prepare for a nostalgic gaming experience! Nintendo is bringing four SNES gems from the early 90s to the Switch Online service. This update offers a diverse range of gameplay, including intense beat 'em up action, high-speed racing, challenging puzzles, and a hilarious dodgeball showdown.

First up, the iconic crossover: Battletoads/Double Dragon. This legendary mashup features the brawling Battletoads and the Double Dragon brothers teaming up to defeat the Dark Queen and her Shadow Warriors. Choose from five playable characters: Billy and Jimmy Lee (Double Dragon) and Zitz, Pimple, and Rash (Battletoads).

Originally released on NES in June 1993 and later ported to SNES in December 1993, this marks a long-awaited re-release for this classic title.

Next, get ready for some dodgeball mayhem with Kunio-kun no Dodgeball da yo Zen’in Shūgō! (Super Dodgeball). Featuring Kunio-kun from the River City series, compete in intense dodgeball matches against rival teams across diverse courts, from indoor arenas to outdoor beaches. Each location presents unique challenges.

Initially launched for the Super Famicom in August 1993.

Puzzle enthusiasts will appreciate Cosmo Gang the Puzzle. This strategic puzzler, similar to Tetris and Puyo Puyo, challenges players to clear lines of containers and Cosmos to score points. Three modes are available: 1P Mode (solo play), VS Mode (head-to-head), and 100 Stage Mode (increasing difficulty). Line up containers horizontally and utilize blue orbs to remove Cosmos.

Initially released in arcades (1992) and later on Super Famicom (1993), Cosmo Gang the Puzzle has seen re-releases on various platforms, including Wii, Wii U, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4.

Finally, experience the thrill of Big Run, a high-octane racing game set across the diverse landscapes of Africa. Race against the clock and competitors through nine challenging stages, managing resources and making strategic decisions to overcome obstacles and reach the finish line.
