A fraudulent Baldur's Gate 3 mobile port has surfaced on the iOS App Store, prompting a warning to gamers. This deceptive app, disguised with altered screenshots and a fake mobile interface, lacks any mention of the game's Dungeons & Dragons origins or developer Larian Studios. Instead, it's listed as "Baldurs Gate 3 - Mobile Turuk" by developer "Dmytro Turuk."
While initially free, the app demands a hefty $29.99 monthly subscription fee after download. Furthermore, its terms of service raise concerns about potential data harvesting, including IP addresses and other user information. This isn't the first instance of a Baldur's Gate 3 scam app; similar fraudulent apps may appear in the future.
Currently, no official Baldur's Gate 3 mobile port exists. Larian Studios has not announced plans for a mobile release. However, earlier Baldur's Gate titles are available on mobile platforms, and Baldur's Gate 3 can be streamed via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
Key Takeaways:
This situation highlights the importance of caution when downloading apps, especially those promising popular game ports. If an offer seems too good to be true, it likely is.
