Nvidia Unveils RTX 50 Series GPUs with DLSS 4 and Multi-Frame Generation at CES 2025

Nvidia's CES 2025 keynote unveiled the RTX 50 series GPUs, codenamed Blackwell, boasting significant advancements in graphics technology. The highlight is DLSS 4 with Multi-Frame Generation, initially exclusive to the RTX 50 series, promising substantial FPS boosts in 75 supported games and applications.

This next-generation technology builds upon the Ada Lovelace architecture, enhancing Nvidia's Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) capabilities. Multi-Frame Generation, a key feature, delivers faster FPS increases compared to its predecessor. The flagship RTX 5090, priced at $1,999, features 32GB of GDDR7 memory. Other models include the RTX 5080 ($999), RTX 5070 Ti ($749), and RTX 5070 ($549).

Nvidia showcased the impact of DLSS 4 and Multi-Frame Generation using Cyberpunk 2077 as an example. With ray tracing enabled and DLSS/Multi-Frame Generation disabled, the RTX 5090 achieved sub-30 FPS. Activating these features dramatically increased the frame rate to 236 FPS.

The initial launch lineup of 75 games supporting DLSS 4 and Multi-Frame Generation includes titles such as Cyberpunk 2077, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Marvel Rivals, Hogwarts Legacy, God of War Ragnarök, and many more (see full list below).

While DLSS 4 and Multi-Frame Generation are initially exclusive to the RTX 50 series, Nvidia confirmed that enhanced DLSS features (Frame Generation, Ray Reconstruction, and DLAA) will be rolled out to older RTX 40 series cards via future driver updates. Furthermore, upcoming games like Doom: The Dark Ages will also leverage Multi-Frame Generation and Ray Reconstruction.
