Game of Thrones: Kingsroad launches its first closed beta on Android and PC, bringing third-person action-adventure to Westeros courtesy of Netmarble. The beta, running January 15th-22nd in the US, Canada, and select European regions, is open for Android sign-ups now!
Unlike previous Game of Thrones mobile titles focusing on strategy, Kingsroad offers a single-character experience. Players become the heir to House Tyre, embarking on a Westerosi journey filled with battles and prestige-building.
The trailer showcases a Witcher-esque style, featuring third-person exploration and combat, with three character classes: Sellsword, Knight, and Assassin. While visually impressive, the game's ultimate success hinges on gameplay.
Winter is Coming (and Beta Sign-Ups End Soon!) Registration for the closed beta closes January 12th. While visually appealing, Kingsroad will undoubtedly face intense scrutiny from the dedicated Game of Thrones fanbase. Monetization, long-term support, and overall game design will be key factors determining its success. Netmarble's execution will decide if it delivers the experience fans desire.
