Netmarble's upcoming mobile RPG, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, has unveiled a new gameplay trailer and details about its closed beta test. The action-adventure title, set during the show's fourth season, promises engaging combat and a rich narrative experience.
The closed beta, scheduled for January 16-22, 2025, in the US, Canada, and select European regions, will offer fans early access before the full release later this year. Players can register via the game's official website.
This class-based RPG features fully manual controls, allowing players to command characters like Jon Snow, Jaime Lannister, and even Drogon. The game boasts an original storyline centered around a new character, the heir to House Tyrell in the North, promising a fresh take within the established Game of Thrones universe.
The recently released trailer showcases the game's dynamic combat system described as "raw, aggressive, and destructive." Netmarble, known for titles like Marvel Future Fight and Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, aims to deliver a compelling story driven mobile experience. The game draws heavily from George R.R. Martin's lore and the HBO series, potentially becoming a standout mobile title for its narrative depth.
The Game of Thrones: Kingsroad beta offers a welcome distraction for fans eagerly awaiting the next installment in the A Song of Ice and Fire book series, The Winds of Winter. While the manuscript faces ongoing delays, this mobile game, along with other projects like A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and House of the Dragon season 3, will keep fans immersed in the world of Westeros.
