Unlocking Multiple Pets in Stardew Valley

Increasing pet friendship

Initially, you can adopt one pet. The 1.6 update introduced the ability to have multiple pets. To unlock this, you must maximize your friendship level with your existing pet. Daily tasks include:

Water: Fill your pet's bowl daily (except on rainy or snowy days).
Petting: Interact with your pet once a day (a heart bubble confirms success).

Monitor your pet's friendship level in the "Animals" tab of the pause menu. Once maxed, Marnie will email you, granting access to additional pets (or at the start of Year 2 if you didn't adopt a pet in Year 1).

After receiving Marnie's email, visit her ranch (9:00 am - 4:00 pm, closed Mondays and Tuesdays). Select the "Adopt Pets" option. Choose from 12 pet licenses:

Obtaining Pet Supplies in Stardew Valley

Visit Robin's shop to commission Pet Bowls (5,000g and 25 Hardwood each). These are crucial for maintaining pet friendship and preventing them from running away.
