Hot to Get Tier II/Fine Weapons and Armor in Avowed

by Ryan Mar 24,2025

In *Avowed*, keeping your weapons and armor upgraded is crucial to tackling the game's challenges effectively. Initially, you'll encounter Common, or Level I, gear and enemies, but as you progress, the difficulty will scale up to Level II, necessitating Fine, or Tier II, equipment. Here's a comprehensive guide on how to acquire and upgrade to Fine (II) weapons and armor in *Avowed*.

How to Upgrade Weapons and Armor from Common (I) to Fine (II) in Avowed

While some Fine Quality weapons and armor can be found or bought directly, others must be upgraded from their Common (I) state. In *Avowed*, gear effectiveness is tracked in two ways: Quality and Enhancement Level. Quality is indicated by a descriptor, color, and Roman numeral. Common items, marked in green, are Level I, while Fine items, marked in blue, are Level II. Within each Quality level, there are three additional enhancement levels, ranging from +1 to +3.

To elevate your gear from Common (I) to Fine (II), you'll need to visit a Party Camp, where you'll find a workbench dedicated to upgrades. You must sequentially upgrade your gear through the +1, +2, and +3 enhancement levels, each requiring specific materials that vary based on the gear type. After reaching the +3 enhancement, you can further upgrade to Fine (II) using Adra, a rare and valuable crystal. Adra can be obtained through Quest rewards, purchased from Merchants, or by breaking down Unique gear.

Where to Find and Purchase Fine (II) Weapons and Armor in Avowed

Fine Weapons and Armor in AvowedUpgrading gear is resource-intensive, but there are alternative methods to acquire Fine (II) weapons and armor. Within the Living Lands, you might stumble upon Fine (II) gear in Dawnshore, albeit rarely. These items can drop from defeated Level II enemies, particularly from Bounties. However, using Common gear against Level II foes can be risky due to reduced damage output and lower resistance, so stock up on health potions to stay safe.

Fine weapons and armor are also available for purchase in Paradis. Access to Paradis becomes available shortly after you defeat the Dreamscourge-infested bear boss in Dawnshore during the early stages of the Main Quest. In Paradis, a pair of sister Merchants near the Bounty Board offer a variety of Fine gear. Merlylin specializes in magical items like grimoires and wands, while her blacksmith sister provides more traditional weapons and armor, as shown in the image above.

By following these strategies, you can ensure that you're equipped with the Fine (II) weapons and armor necessary to thrive in the world of *Avowed*.
