Call of Duty: Warzone players are experiencing game freezes and crashes during loading screens, sometimes resulting in unfair penalties. While a permanent fix is still under development, developers have implemented a temporary solution.
The Problem: Players reported widespread freezing and crashing issues during the loading screen, leading to undeserved penalties within the game. This follows a series of issues in late 2024 and early 2025, including temporary server outages and ongoing concerns regarding cheating and bugs.
The Temporary Fix: On January 9th, developers announced a temporary suspension of Skill Rating (SR) penalties and timeouts for players disconnecting before joining Ranked matches. This addresses player frustration over penalties incurred due to the unavoidable glitch. Penalties will still apply for players who leave matches mid-game.
Developer Response: Raven Software acknowledged the issue on January 6th and, while a complete fix remains pending, the temporary penalty suspension offers immediate relief. The persistent bugs, even after a major update in early January 2025, highlight the ongoing challenges faced by the development team.
Despite the temporary fix, the situation remains a source of frustration for players, especially those participating in Ranked mode. The developers are actively working on a permanent solution to eliminate these disruptive crashes.
