Baldur's Gate III's eighth and potentially final major patch is undergoing its official stress test. While some Sony console players received early access, developers advise reinstalling the game for a clean stress test experience.
Patch 8 introduces highly anticipated cross-platform play between PC and consoles. Players with linked Larian accounts can now team up regardless of platform. Surprisingly, modded gameplay is also supported in crossplay, provided all mods used by the PC player are available across Mac and consoles, and the host's mod count remains below ten.
Xbox Series S users will rejoice: split-screen co-op is finally being tested on this platform, a feature previously unavailable.
Additional features in Patch 8 include a robust photo mode with extensive customization options and twelve new subclasses to enhance gameplay diversity. Bug fixes and balance adjustments are also included, although some issues may persist. A comprehensive changelog for the stress test is accessible on the game's official website.
