Marvel Rivals: PvE Mode Still Unconfirmed, but NetEase Exploring Options

While Marvel Rivals is a relatively new game, player anticipation for expanded content is high, particularly regarding a PvE mode. Recent rumors of a potential PvE boss fight fueled this speculation. However, NetEase recently clarified that a full-fledged PvE mode isn't currently in the works.

In an interview at the DICE Summit in Las Vegas, Marvel Rivals producer Weicong Wu stated that, while there are no immediate plans for a PvE mode, the development team is actively experimenting with new gameplay modes. The team is exploring options to determine what would be both engaging and a good fit for the game's current structure. Wu hinted at the possibility of a "lighter" PvE experience, perhaps a limited-time event, rather than a complete overhaul of the game's core mechanics.

This was further emphasized by Marvel Games executive producer Danny Koo, who also expressed interest in gauging player interest in a PvE mode.

Currently, Marvel Rivals receives updates approximately every six weeks, introducing new characters. The Human Torch and The Thing are slated to join the roster on February 21st. Separate discussions with Wu and Koo also touched upon the potential for a Nintendo Switch 2 release and addressed speculation regarding intentionally misleading dataminers with false hero leaks.
