Nintendo's Latest Collaboration: A LEGO Game Boy!

Nintendo and LEGO have teamed up again, this time producing a LEGO Game Boy! Set to launch in October 2025, this follows the successful LEGO NES release.

The announcement, made on X (formerly Twitter), sparked immediate speculation about the Nintendo Switch 2, with many users playfully suggesting the LEGO Game Boy was the long-awaited console reveal. While Nintendo remains tight-lipped about the Switch 2, President Furukawa's May 7, 2024 statement promising a successor announcement within the fiscal year (ending March) keeps anticipation high.

Pricing details for the LEGO Game Boy are yet to be revealed, but further information is promised in the coming weeks.

A History of Nintendo and LEGO Partnerships

Beyond the NES and Game Boy, Nintendo and LEGO's collaborations have brought iconic characters from popular franchises to life in brick form. These include Super Mario, Animal Crossing, and The Legend of Zelda.

Last May 2024 saw the release of a 2,500-piece LEGO set featuring the Great Deku Tree from Ocarina of Time and Breath of the Wild, complete with Princess Zelda and the Master Sword. This set retails at $299.99 USD.

Two months later, a Super Mario World set featuring Mario and Yoshi debuted. This unique set recreates the in-game sprites, with a rotating crank animating Yoshi's leg. It's available for $129.99 USD.
