Licensed by Atlus, P5X initially launched in China (April 12, 2024), followed by Hong Kong, Macau, South Korea, and Taiwan (April 18, 2024). The game, published by Perfect World Games and developed by Black Wings Game Studio, is currently in open beta.

Players control a new silent protagonist, "Wonder," a high school student who moonlights as a Phantom Thief, fighting societal injustice alongside Joker (from the main Persona 5 series) and a new character, YUI. Wonder's initial Persona is Janosik, inspired by Slovakian folklore.

P5X retains the core gameplay elements of the Persona series – turn-based combat, social simulation, and dungeon crawling – but adds a gacha system for character acquisition.

New Roguelike Mode: Heart Rail

A recent gameplay showcase by prominent Persona content creator, Faz, revealed a new roguelike game mode, "Heart Rail," reminiscent of Honkai: Star Rail's Simulated Universe. This mode features power-up selection, varied maps, and stage completion rewards.

SEGA's Strong Full Game Sales and Future Plans

SEGA reported robust sales for its "Full Game" category, including Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Persona 3 Reload, and Football Manager 2024, all achieving significant sales milestones.

SEGA is restructuring its business, creating a new "Gaming Business" segment encompassing online gaming, slot machine development, and integrated resort operations. The company projects increased sales and profits for FY2025, with a significant contribution anticipated from the Full Game segment (projected at 93 billion Yen). A new Sonic title is also slated for release next year.
