Pokémon Go Is Celebrating New Year’s 2025 with Festive Fireworks and More!

Pokémon Go rings in 2025 with a New Year's event! Niantic is celebrating the new year with festivities kicking off the Dual Destiny season. This includes the New Year's 2025 event, followed by Fidough Fetch and a Sprigatito Community Day.

An "Eggs-pedition Access" paid event runs throughout January (January 1st-31st) for $4.99, offering numerous bonuses to enhance your Pokémon journey. This also includes a significant upgrade to the Gift system, allowing you to store up to 40 Gifts, open 50 daily, and collect 150 from Photo Discs.

Check out the event trailer below!

What's in Store for the Pokémon Go New Year's 2025 Event?

The New Year's 2025 event runs from December 30th, 2024, 10:00 am to January 1st, 2025, 8:00 pm. While there aren't any new Pokémon, Shiny variations, or costumes this time, there's still plenty of festive fun.

Expect increased wild spawns of Jigglypuff (with a ribbon), Hoothoot (in a New Year's outfit), and Wurmple (in a party hat), all with boosted Shiny rates. Event bonuses include 2,025 XP for Excellent Throws and celebratory fireworks.

Raids feature a snowflake-wearing Pikachu (Tier One), and party-hat-adorned Raticate and Wobbuffet (Tier Three), also with increased Shiny odds. Themed Pokémon encounters are also available through Field Research tasks and PokéStop Showcases.

Ready to celebrate? Download Pokémon Go from the Google Play Store and join the New Year's 2025 festivities! And don't forget to check out our coverage of Night Crimson, Sword of Convallaria's latest update!
