Ubisoft's Rainbow Six Siege Celebrates a Decade with Siege X, a Massive Upgrade
A tradition in the esports world is for major game developers to unveil significant announcements just before a world championship's grand finals. Ubisoft, in keeping with this tradition, and with Rainbow Six Siege entering its tenth year, has delivered a substantial surprise: Siege X.
This isn't simply a new update, nor is it a full-fledged sequel. Ubisoft describes Siege X as a transformative upgrade, comparable to the relationship between Counter-Strike 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Expect a significantly enhanced experience that feels like a new game while preserving all player progress and data from the original Rainbow Six Siege.
Further details will be revealed during a dedicated three-hour presentation on March 13th, featuring a live audience in Atlanta. To mark Rainbow Six Siege's tenth anniversary, Ubisoft has also launched a commemorative pack offering players the chance to unlock legendary skins from the game's earliest seasons – a comprehensive collection of classic cosmetic items.
