Safari Ball Debuts at Pokémon GO's Wild Area Event 2024

The Pokémon GO Wild Area 2024 event is launching soon, and the spotlight will likely be on the Safari Ball. Yes, it’s making its first appearance as the seventh Poké Ball in the game. Keep reading to learn everything about this new event and the brand-new Poké Ball.

What Is Pokémon GO Safari Ball?

If you’ve been a longtime Pokémon fan, you probably know Safari Zones from the mainline games—special areas where you can catch rare Pokémon without battling. Niantic is bringing that same concept to life with their new Wild Area event.

It’s worth noting that Pokémon GO has introduced very few new Poké Ball types over the years. The most common ones you’ll use regularly are the standard Poké Ball, Great Ball, and Ultra Ball, along with Premier Balls and the rarest of them all—the Master Ball.

The Wild Area event will run globally from November 23rd to November 24th, 2024, ending at 6:15 pm local time. Keep in mind: any unused Safari Balls will vanish from your inventory once the event concludes.

During the event, the Pokémon GO Safari Ball will be your go-to tool for catching powerful Pokémon. I wonder what Niantic has planned, since they’re not releasing these balls during Safari Zone or City Safari events—instead, they’ve chosen a brand-new event to debut them.

The exact design hasn’t been revealed yet, but many Pokémon GO players are guessing it’ll feature the classic green forest camouflage look associated with the Safari Ball in the main series games. Only time will tell… What do you think? Share your thoughts in the comments.
