Old School RuneScape Concludes Varlamore: The Final Dawn

Old School RuneScape has now released the concluding chapter of the Varlamore story, "Varlamore: The Final Dawn." This long-awaited finale brings the narrative to its climax, challenging you to confront the Doom of Mokhaiotl and uncover unsettling secrets.

Brutal Enemies and Deeper Challenges Await

The Final Dawn is a Master-level quest that brings the Varlamore trilogy to a close. To begin, you'll need to have completed The Heart of Darkness and Perilous Moons, and have at least level 66 in Thieving, 52 in Fletching, and 52 in Runecraft. A Combat Level of 85 is also highly recommended.

Set in Varlamore, the quest sees you joining the Queen in a mission to rescue Itzla. Your alliance will lead you to defeat the Doom of Mokhaiotl—also known to the Old Ones as Osto-Ayak—before plunging into the Ruins of Mokhaiotl. This new Player-versus-Monster experience offers no checkpoints and no breaks.

Breaking from traditional encounters, this is Old School RuneScape's first Delve boss. It's a solo endgame challenge with an enrage-style mechanic that increases in difficulty the deeper you go. Each time you succeed, the Doom retreats further into its lair, raising the stakes even higher.

Every floor must be completed in a single attempt. If you die, you’ll lose all your collected loot. Exiting early returns you to the first floor. Early floors are comparable in difficulty to the Corrupted Gauntlet, while later stages demand the skill required for an Infernal Cape.

New Varlamore Locations Open with the Expansion

The Auburnal Valley provides an autumnal landscape for boosting your Fletching ability. Harsher conditions await in Custodia Pass, which hosts a Slayer dungeon bordering the Kebos Lowlands. In the tropical Tlati Rainforest, home to the Talkasti people, you'll encounter the Gemstone Crab—a brand new PvM boss.
