Squid Game: Unleashed set to receive new characters and events to celebrate season two of the show

Squid Game: Unleashed is gearing up for a major content drop to coincide with the release of season two of the hit Netflix show. Get ready for new characters, a fresh map, and exciting challenges! Plus, exclusive rewards await those who tune in to the new episodes.

Netflix's surprising decision to offer Squid Game: Unleashed for free to all players, subscribers and non-subscribers alike, ahead of the holidays, was a bold move. Now, with this new content update, they're incentivizing non-users to join the fun and rewarding existing players for watching the show.

What's in store for current players? Starting January 3rd, a new map inspired by the Mingle mini-game from Squid Game season two will launch. Three new playable avatars will also debut throughout January: Geum-Ja, Yong-Sik, and Thanos (the rapper, not the Marvel character).

Geum-Ja and Thanos will each have special in-game events on January 3rd and 9th respectively, allowing players to unlock them. And for those watching the show, there are additional rewards! Watching episodes of Squid Game season two will earn you in-game Cash and Wild Tokens. Watching up to seven episodes unlocks the exclusive Binni Binge-Watcher outfit!

Here's the January content schedule for Squid Game: Unleashed:

• January 3rd: The Mingle map launches alongside Geum-Ja. The Dalgona Mash Up Collection Event begins, challenging players to complete Mingle-inspired mini-games and collect Dalgona tins. This event runs until January 9th.
• January 9th: Thanos enters the game, accompanied by his own recruitment event: Thanos’ Red Light Challenge. Players must eliminate opponents using knives to unlock this character. This event runs until January 14th.
• January 16th: Yong-Sik joins the roster as the final character addition in this update.
