Suicide Squad: Final Content Update Enhances Gameplay

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Receives Final Major Update, Ending Live Service Support

Rocksteady Studios has released the final major content update for its live-service title, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Season 4 Episode 8, titled "Balance," is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. This marks the end of new content development for the game, though online features will remain active.

Released to mixed reception in February 2024, the game's live-service model contributed to its relatively short lifespan. Rocksteady announced the end of support on December 9, 2024, with Season 4 Episode 8 as the final update. The decision, while unsurprising given the game's performance, ensures players can still enjoy the online experience with friends.

Season 4 Episode 8 introduces significant new content:

  • Libra Infamy Set: A high-risk, high-reward set inspired by the DC villain Libra, manipulating enemy damage output.
  • Notorious Weapons: New powerful weapons, including The Silencer's Complete Silence (with a devastating alt-fire), Doctor Sivana's Magic Bullets (piercing and electrifying), and Chronos' Equilibrium (bonus damage based on missing shield).
  • Mayhem Mission: A final showdown against Brainiac.
  • Gameplay Improvements: Reduced XP requirements for Squad Levels (with retroactive rewards), and adjustments to Deathstroke's Suicide Strike.
  • Bug Fixes: Numerous bug fixes addressing various gameplay, UI, audio, and performance issues.

Offline Play Enabled: Thanks to a previous update (Season 4 Episode 7), players can now experience the game's content, including the main campaign and seasonal missions, offline. This ensures continued access even if servers are eventually shut down.

PlayStation Plus Offer: Currently, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is available on PlayStation Plus until February 3rd, giving players a chance to experience the game.

Season 4 Episode 8 Patch Notes Highlights:

New Content:

  • Medieval Elseworld Expansion: Explore new areas and variations on existing locations within the medieval Elseworld.
  • Libra Infamy Set: Stacks Scales of Libra on enemies, increasing damage dealt and received.

New Weapons:

  • The Silencer's Complete Silence: Deals bonus damage to enemies affected by Scales of Libra, with a powerful alt-fire creating a damage-reducing zone.
  • Doctor Sivana's Magic Bullets: Piercing bullets that apply Scales of Libra and electrify enemies.
  • Chronos' Equilibrium: Deals increased damage based on missing shield.

Gameplay Changes & Bug Fixes: Extensive list of gameplay adjustments and bug fixes (see full patch notes for details).

Known Issues: A known issue regarding incorrect tracking of Riddler challenges is noted.

The game's servers will remain online, allowing continued online play, but no further content updates are planned. This concludes the post-launch support for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
