Activision has revealed a new crossover event for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone, bringing back the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This isn't the first time the Turtles have graced an Activision shooter.
While specifics regarding the collaboration's content and launch date (only described as "soon") remain undisclosed by Activision, the CODWarfareForum website offers some unverified details.
Supposedly, the crossover will feature operator skins for all four Turtles (though notably absent are April O'Neil, Master Splinter, and Shredder). New melee weapons and finishers are also rumored, including a skateboard, katana, nunchucks, and a staff. The Grind map, a skatepark, is speculated to be the central location for the crossover events.
Despite the announcement, fan reaction has been muted. This isn't due to a lack of popularity for the TMNT franchise, but rather stems from the current troubled state of Black Ops Cold War. The game is plagued by bugs and rampant cheating, leading to a significant decline in its player base. The timing of this collaboration, amidst the game's ongoing struggles, has left many players uncertain about its impact and longevity.
