Transformers Game Footage Leaks Despite Cancellation

by Zoe Jan 27,2025

Recently canceled Transformers: Reactivate, a co-op game unveiled by Splash Damage in 2022, resurfaces in leaked gameplay footage. The game, a collaboration with Hasbro, featured Generation 1 Autobots and Decepticons uniting against an alien threat, "the Legion."

Limited gameplay had been shown publicly prior to cancellation, with only leaks and associated merchandise surfacing. Following the official cancellation announcement, footage from a 2020 build has re-emerged online. This footage showcases Bumblebee navigating a destroyed city, seamlessly transforming between robot and vehicle modes, and utilizing various weapons. The gameplay bears resemblance to Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, but pits Bumblebee against the Legion instead of Decepticons.

Despite some unfinished textures, the leaked footage displays a polished game, including environmental destruction. A silent cutscene concludes the clip, showing Bumblebee emerging from a portal in New York City and communicating with an ally, Devin, about the Legion's attacks.

Numerous other leaks from 2020, predating the game's announcement and subsequent cancellation, exist. While the game itself remains unreleased, the leaked footage offers a glimpse into Splash Damage's vision for this ambitious, ultimately unsuccessful, Transformers multiplayer project.
