Don't Nod, the studio behind the acclaimed Life is Strange series, has launched the first chapter of their new narrative adventure. Players can now experience "Tape 1," with "Tape 2" launching free to all owners on April 15th.
Initially unveiled in 2023, the game unravels the mystery surrounding a close group of friends whose lives were irrevocably shattered during the summer of 1995. Twenty-seven years later, the echoes of that fateful summer resurface, bringing unforeseen and chilling consequences.
Blending the nostalgic charm of the 90s with the suspense of psychological thrillers, the game draws inspiration from iconic works like It, Yellowjackets, and I Know What You Did Last Summer. The narrative is cleverly divided into two parts: Bloom and Rage. Currently, only Bloom, the first half of this haunting tale, is available (as of February 18th).
Rage, also known as "The Tape," will be released on April 15th. Initially scheduled for March, the launch was delayed to allow for further refinement and polishing.
The review embargo has now lifted, with OpenCritic reporting an average score of 74/100—a promising start for this gripping mystery.
