Rumor: Halo: Master Chief Collection and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Headed to PS5 and Switch 2 in 2025

A recent report from industry insider NateTheHate suggests that Halo: The Master Chief Collection is slated for release on both the PlayStation 5 and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. The same source claims a 2025 launch window for these new versions of the six-game compilation. This follows Microsoft's February 2024 initiative to broaden the availability of its first-party titles to other consoles. Previous releases under this initiative include Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded, and Sea of Thieves, with As Dusk Falls and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 also included depending on interpretation. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is expected to join the multi-platform lineup in Spring 2025 on PS5.

NateTheHate further indicated that Microsoft Flight Simulator, likely referring to the recently released MFS 2024, is also anticipated to launch on PS5 and Switch 2 sometime in 2025.

More Xbox Games Projected for Multi-Platform Release in 2025

This news is supported by another reputable leaker, Jez Corden, who tweeted that significantly more Xbox games will be making their way to PS5 and Switch 2. Corden has consistently voiced his belief that the era of exclusive Xbox titles is concluding.

The future multi-platform expansion of the Call of Duty franchise is almost guaranteed, thanks to a ten-year agreement between Microsoft and Nintendo. However, the absence of Switch titles to date might be attributed to Microsoft awaiting the release of the more powerful Switch 2, better equipped to handle the visual demands of modern Call of Duty games.
