Atomfallで武器のアップグレードレシピにアクセスするには、まず『クラフティングマニュアル』を読んでガンスミス技能を習得する必要があります。一部のスキルブックは見つけにくいですが、このマニュアルの入手は（道義的には疑問が残るものの）比較的単純な手順で可能です。
ウィンダム村の店主モリス・ウィックが『クラフティングマニュアル』を所持していますが、通常の取引では手に入りません。メイジー殺害事件の聖キャサリン教会調査中に注意深く探索すると、モリスが関与している証拠が見つかります。この証拠を提示することで、彼にマニュアルを譲らせることができます。
