Made in Abyss First Mobile Game Announced

Avex Pictures has unveiled a new mobile game inspired by Made in Abyss. Having taken audiences deep into the Abyss through manga, anime, and a 3D action RPG, the iconic story now makes its debut on mobile gaming platforms.

What’s the Latest News?

The upcoming mobile release is called Made in Abyss: A Difficult and Mysterious Journey. Its announcement coincided with the launch of an official X account, which is expected to share ongoing updates as development progresses.

So far, details remain scarce, but the title is confirmed as a casual mobile experience. It will be available on Android and iOS devices, initially launching only in Japan. A global release has not yet been confirmed.

Have You Explored the Abyss?

Made in Abyss began as a manga by Akihito Tsukushi in 2012, serialized in Web Comic Gamma. It tells the story of Riko, an orphan living in the town of Orth, which encircles an enormous chasm known as the Abyss.

This vast pit brims with ancient relics, unusual lifeforms, and captivating mysteries that consume anyone who dares enter. Riko aspires to follow her mother Lyza—a legendary White Whistle Cave Raider who vanished somewhere deep in the Abyss.

During her journey, Riko encounters Reg, a part-robot boy with no recollection of his past. Together they descend into the Abyss, fully aware that they might never return.

The manga received an anime adaptation in 2017, followed by a sequel film, Dawn of the Deep Soul, released in Japan in 2020. Additionally, in 2022, Chime Corporation launched a console and PC RPG titled Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness.
