Marvel Reportedly Pays Millions to Film Avengers: Doomsday at Windsor Castle

Marvel Studios is allegedly paying King Charles millions for permission to film Avengers: Doomsday at Windsor Castle—the historic UK royal residence where new set photos hint at the unexpected return of a Marvel character.

A Heroic Return?

Construction has begun in Windsor's parkland for multiple Avengers: Doomsday sets, including one labeled "Annie Reynolds' House" in planning documents. Since Annie is Sentry’s mother, this suggests expanded flashbacks exploring Bob Reynolds'/The Void’s origin.

Now, reports indicate a second set dubbed "Luke Cage's House"—marking the bulletproof hero’s potential MCU debut years after his Netflix series. Last seen battling crime in Harlem (2018), Cage previously teamed with Daredevil and Jessica Jones in The Defenders before Netflix canceled Marvel’s street-level shows.

Why Windsor? Why Now?

The mustard-yellow "Luke Cage’s House" set—though not Harlem-esque—evokes Netflix’s color scheme, fueling speculation. Given Marvel’s secrecy (even codenaming projects), this could be misdirection—but fans are connecting dots after recent Defender cameos:

  • Charlie Cox’s Daredevil appearing pre-Born Again
  • Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones returning
  • Jon Bernthal’s Punisher getting a special before Spider-Man: Brand New Day

While King Charles reportedly earns millions from Crown Estate filming deals, his cameo seems unlikely—he’ll be holidaying in Scotland during shoots.

New 1960s-style ‘Luke Cage’ house spotted on the AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY set!

Captain Marvel’s ship construction begins soon.
