Just one month after its release and Game Pass debut, Obsidian and Xbox Game Studios released a celebratory trailer for Avowed, showcasing glowing reviews from gaming journalists and highlighting the action-RPG's positive reception.
This update introduces DLSS 4 support, including Multi-Frame Generation, Super Resolution, and DLAA, significantly boosting performance. NVIDIA showcased a potential threefold increase in frame rates at maximum 4K settings, reaching up to 340 FPS. Further announcements regarding future support and a roadmap for Avowed are promised in the coming weeks.
Beyond the technical enhancements, this update also improves the player experience. Players now earn an extra talent point every five levels, with retroactive awards for existing players upon game load. Keyboard and mouse users gain a toggle for walking/running, and a new accessibility option increases font sizes for in-game text, including documents and guides.
While Avowed didn't achieve universal, unreserved praise, it still garnered strong reviews. Digital Foundry, for example, lauded the game as a technical "triumph," cementing its reputation as a notable Obsidian title.
