Starfield is set to receive more updates, promising new content and features later this year. On March 7, 2025, the official Starfield Twitter (X) account shared that the team has exciting plans lined up for the game in 2025.

While the development team is keeping the specifics under wraps for now, they've assured fans that they're working on something significant. They emphasized their commitment to listening to fan feedback, hinting at a substantial update. Game director Todd Howard, in a June 2024 interview with MrMattyPlays, expressed hopes for yearly DLCs, suggesting that the teased news might be related to another expansion.

Improving Starfield Since Release

Launched in 2023, Starfield received critical acclaim but also mixed reviews, as it didn't quite match the experience of Bethesda's previous hits like The Elder Scrolls and Fallout. Despite this, it became one of the top-selling games of the year.
