Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Developer Working on New Feature to Track Challenges

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is getting a much-requested feature: in-game challenge tracking. Treyarch Studios confirmed they are developing this functionality, absent from the game's launch but present in 2023's Modern Warfare 3.

While no release date has been announced, the feature is "currently in the works," according to Treyarch's Twitter response to a fan inquiry. With Season 2 launching later this month, players may not have long to wait.

A recent January 9th update addressed various bug fixes for both Multiplayer and Zombies modes. Multiplayer saw improvements to the UI and audio, along with increased XP rewards for the Red Light, Green Light mode. A significant Zombies change reversed a controversial alteration from January 3rd; the extended time between rounds and delayed zombie spawns in Directed Mode have been removed following player feedback.

Challenge Tracking: A Game Changer

The addition of challenge tracking will be a significant improvement for players, particularly those aiming for Mastery camos. Mirroring Modern Warfare 3's implementation, the feature will likely provide a real-time in-game tracker, showing progress towards challenge completion without needing to exit the match.

More Improvements on the Horizon

Beyond challenge tracking, Treyarch also confirmed another highly requested feature is under development: separate HUD settings for Multiplayer and Zombies. This will eliminate the need to constantly adjust HUD preferences when switching between game modes. The studio's commitment to addressing player feedback is evident in these ongoing developments.
