Pocket Gamer recently discovered Dynabytes' Fantasma at Gamescom Latam—a multiplayer augmented reality (AR) GPS adventure game. This exciting title just received a language update adding Japanese, Korean, Malay, and Portuguese. German, Italian, and Spanish are planned for release in the coming months.
But what exactly is Fantasma? Players hunt and battle mischievous creatures using portable electromagnetic fields as bait. Combat takes place in AR, requiring players to maneuver their phones to keep the Fantasma in view while tapping the screen to attack. Defeated creatures are then captured in special bottles.
Fantasma creatures appear based on your real-world location, encouraging exploration. Sensors can expand your search radius, and cooperative gameplay is available for a more social experience.
Fantasma is free-to-play (with in-app purchases) and available now on the App Store and Google Play. Download it via the links below! Looking for more AR fun? Check out our list of the best AR games for iOS.
