How Camo Challenge Tracking Works in Blacks Ops 6

by Julian Mar 21,2025

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 2 has arrived, bringing with it a game-changer for camo enthusiasts: Camo Challenge Tracking. This new feature significantly streamlines the often-daunting camo progression grind. This guide will walk you through how it works.

Simplified Camo Challenge Progress in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

The patch notes describe Camo Challenge Tracking as a tool allowing players to manually track up to 10 Camo and 10 Calling Card Challenges simultaneously. But the real benefit extends beyond simple tracking. The system also cleverly highlights challenges nearing completion, even those not actively tracked, offering a significant boost towards achieving Dark Matter, Nebula, and 100 Percenter.

This feature lets you hand-pick 10 camo challenges to monitor, providing readily accessible progress updates during gameplay, eliminating the need to constantly check the main menu. The tracker proactively notifies you of almost-completed challenges, even if they aren't in your tracked list.

To track a challenge, navigate to the desired Camo or Calling Card challenge. Then, press Y (Xbox) or Triangle (PlayStation) to add it to your tracker. You can now monitor your progress during matches, eliminating post-game checks.

Even without manually selecting challenges, the game automatically populates your tracker with those closest to completion. This ensures you always have a clear view of your near-unlocks. The Daily Challenges section in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 lobby also displays your top tracked and near-complete challenges.

Season 2 also simplifies unlocking special camos. Previously requiring nine preceding military camos, now only five are needed. However, two special camos remain necessary to unlock mastery camos.

This update directly addresses player feedback regarding the sheer number of camos and the difficulty in tracking progress. Treyarch has clearly listened, implementing a more efficient system to enhance the overall Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 experience.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
