In the expansive world of *Monster Hunter Wilds*, exploring Wyveria will lead you to encounter Xu Wu, a formidable yet less daunting foe compared to Nu Udra. This agile monster poses a significant challenge with its speed and dangerous maneuvers.
Xu Wu's agility in *Monster Hunter Wilds* makes it a challenging opponent. Its unpredictable movements, combined with its dark, hard-to-read body shape, can be frustrating. Similar to Nu Udra, its black skin complicates identifying its front. It wields multiple arms and can vanish into walls, only to re-emerge from the ceiling in an attempt to ambush you. This behavior is limited to its nest, so remain vigilant in this area.
Exploiting Xu Wu's weakness to Ice in *Monster Hunter Wilds* can be key. Utilize Ice ammo if you're a ranged fighter, or equip melee gear with elemental damage capabilities. Enhance your equipment with a Frost Jewel for the Ice Attack skill, and carry a Frost Pod for additional Ice damage.
Beware of Xu Wu's grab attack in *Monster Hunter Wilds*, which can immobilize you, preventing the use of regular weapons. You have a brief two-second window to escape; using your slinger, particularly with Frost Pods, can be an effective countermeasure.
The mouth is Xu Wu's Achilles' heel, though it's hidden beneath its body. Seize the opportunity to strike when it dives at you, as a powerful hit can deal substantial damage and potentially break its mouth, rewarding you with Xu Wu's fang. If the mouth is inaccessible, target the head, which is highly susceptible to blunt and cut damage, and moderately vulnerable to ammo.
Xu Wu is particularly vulnerable to Poison, rated at a 3-star weakness. Employing a bow with Poison Coating can be advantageous. While other status effects can be useful, steer clear of Sleep, as it's less effective against this creature.

Once Xu Wu's health drops to 20 percent, deploy a Pitfall Trap or Shock Trap for capture. Enhance your chances by using meat as bait or even yourself as a lure. Swiftly follow up with a tranquilizer to subdue the monster before it escapes the trap.
Mastering the hunt and capture of Xu Wu in *Monster Hunter Wilds* requires keen attention to its agility and your stamina management. Dive into the adventure, available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
