Sony and Kojima Productions have officially confirmed asynchronous multiplayer in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, continuing the series’ signature “social strand system” from the original game. Crucially, these online features won't require a PlayStation Plus subscription.

The updated PlayStation Store description reveals players will encounter roads, bridges, and other structures built by other players. These interactive elements unlock as you connect different regions, creating a shared sense of exploration and collaboration.
