"Engineers to Care for Grogu in New Mandalorian Update for Millennium Falcon Ride"

by Jack May 12,2025

Star Wars Celebration unveiled thrilling new details about an upcoming update for *Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run*, inspired by *The Mandalorian and Grogu*. This update, set to launch on May 22, 2026, will complement the new *The Mandalorian & Grogu* movie, introducing a choose-your-own-adventure-style storyline where players can visit planets such as Coruscant, Tatooine, Bespin, and Endor. One of the highlights is the Engineers' new role in caring for Grogu, adding a unique interactive element to the experience.

While this update will diverge from the plot of the *The Mandalorian & Grogu* movie, it will still feature Din Djarin and Grogu prominently. The storyline revolves around Hondo Ohnaka discovering a high-stakes deal on Tatooine between ex-Imperial officers and pirates. Guests will join forces with Mando and Grogu to chase down the culprits and claim a bounty, making for an engaging, galaxy-spanning adventure.

The Engineers will have a pivotal role, taking care of Grogu throughout the mission. This unique responsibility promises to add depth and fun to the experience. According to Walt Disney Imagineering's Asa Kalama, "Throughout the mission, we're going to be giving the engineers the opportunity to actually get to communicate with Grogu. So, we think it's going to be a ton of fun. There may be times when Mando has to deboard the Razor Crest and Grogu, left to his own devices, might get a little happy on the control panel. So, we love the idea of there being these fun little vignettes and moments where you're sort of on the comm with Grogu."

The choose-your-own-adventure aspect introduces a critical decision point where players must quickly choose which bounty to pursue, affecting the destinations visited. Kalama explains, "There will be a sort of critical moment in your adventure where you are strapped for time and have to make a lightning quick decision about which of our particular bounties we want to pursue. And that's going to be the sort of inciting incident that allows us to decide which are the different destinations we go to."
