Evil Dead Game Delisted After 3 Years, Servers Remain

by Logan Nov 10,2025

Evil Dead: The Game has been discontinued for purchase after its publisher removed it from digital storefronts.

The asymmetric multiplayer title based on the popular horror franchise launched in 2022 for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. IGN's review awarded it an 8/10, stating: "Evil Dead: The Game delivers thrilling cat-and-mouse multiplayer action that captures the spirit of its horror-comedy source material, despite some rough edges."

A Game of the Year Edition released in 2023 failed to revive player engagement. By September that year, development ceased on planned Nintendo Switch and additional content.

Now after three years, new purchases have ended - though servers remain operational for existing players.

Developer Saber Interactive announced on Steam:

We've initiated removal from digital stores, but all existing owners retain access as we'll maintain servers.

We sincerely thank our dedicated community - both longtime supporters and newcomers alike.

The Steam page reflects player disappointment through negative reviews calling this a death knell. The game maintains a 'Mixed' overall rating.

"The end approaches," writes one veteran player with 380+ hours. "We had good times while they lasted."

Saber Interactive, fresh from Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2's success, has multiple licensed titles in development including:

  • John Carpenter's Toxic Commando
  • Jurassic Park Survival
  • An unannounced Avatar: The Last Airbender project
  • Turok: Origins
  • Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3
