Fabled Game Studio Announces Pirates Outlaws 2, Sequel to Hit Roguelike Deckbuilder

Fabled Game Studio is set to thrill fans once again with the announcement of Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage, the much-anticipated sequel to their 2019 hit, Pirates Outlaws. This roguelike deck-builder promises enhanced features and is slated for a full release in 2025 across Android, iOS, and PC via Steam and Epic Games. In an exciting move, Fabled Game is hosting an open beta test on Steam from October 25th to 31st. However, mobile enthusiasts might have to wait a bit longer to set sail on this adventure. Let’s dive into what’s new in this thrilling sequel.

So, What’s New?

In Pirates Outlaws 2, you'll embark on a journey with a new hero whose backstory unfolds years after the original game's timeline. This hero comes equipped with premade decks and unique ability cards right from the start, setting the stage for a fresh adventure.

A major addition to the game is the introduction of companions, each bringing their own special cards to the fray. Furthermore, the sequel introduces a new fusion mechanic, allowing you to combine three identical cards into a more powerful version. This adds a strategic layer to deck-building.

The game also features an evolution tree, where you can level up your deck and choose how your cards develop. Even previously considered "trash" cards can now be upgraded, ensuring every card has potential value. Relics, which were previously obtained after every fight, will now be discovered in markets, post-boss battles, or during special events, making their acquisition more strategic.

Combat mechanics have evolved with the introduction of a Countdown system that influences enemy actions. Instead of an End Turn button, players will now use a ReDraw feature. Additionally, new armor and shield systems have been implemented, adding depth to the tactical gameplay.

Are You Excited For Pirates Outlaws 2?

Despite the introduction of numerous new mechanics, the core fun of Pirates Outlaws remains intact. Players will still enjoy the roguelike deck-building experience, navigating treacherous seas and engaging in battles across Arena and Campaign modes. Classic elements such as ammo management, melee-ranged-skill card combinations, curses, and diverse enemy races continue to be a part of the gameplay.
